Lady Tigers Stage 7th Inning Rally, Beat Memorial

The Lady Tiger softball team won 8-7 over Elkhart Memorial on Monday.

Warsaw scored five runs in the bottom of the seventh to pull off a comeback to win the Northern Lakes Conference battle.

Emali Grose ripped a double in the bottom of the seventh that plated two runs and captured the walkoff.

The seventh inning had two doubles, two singles, a hit by pitch and a walk that helped Warsaw score five runs to win.

Chookie had four strikeouts and two earned runs in the victory inside the circle for the Lady Tigers. 

Warsaw hosts Wawasee on Wednesday. The game is a fundraiser for the Animal Welfare League. Animals will be available at the Tiger Athletic Complex that can be adopted on the spot.

Concord Routs Wawasee In NLC Action

SYRACUSE – The Wawasee softball team lost 10-1 to Concord on Monday.

In the Northern Lakes Conference contest, the Lady Warriors held an early one-run lead in the first inning, but couldn’t hold on for long.

Concord scored two in the second, two in the third and six in the fifth to put the game out of reach.

Ava Rush had three hits for Wawasee in the leadoff spot. Graceanne Kerlin tallied the other hit for the Lady Warriors.

Olivia Stuck had six strikeouts in three innings of work in the circle.

Wawasee visits Warsaw on Wednesday at 5 p.m.

DUNLAP – The Wawasee baseball team lost a late lead and fell 11-10 at Concord on Monday.

The Warriors (6-7, 2-4 NLC) allowed the Minutemen to score five runs in the bottom of the seventh to claim the Northern Lakes Conference victory.

Wawasee’s Levi Brown had three hits and two RBIs in the game. Kameron Salazar had a triple, single and two RBIs.

The Warriors host Warsaw on Wednesday for an NLC matchup.

FULTON – The Triton Trojan baseball team lost 12-2 in six innings at Caston on Monday.

Triton’s Max Slusser and Keegan Mosier each had a hit. 

Vincent Helton took the loss for the Trojans. He allowed four hits and struck out six batters.

Triton hosts Caston in a rematch tonight at 5 p.m.

Whitko Wins TRC Match

WABASH – The Whitko girls tennis team won 3-2 at Southwood on Monday. 

Whitko’s (5-5, 3-2 TRC) Jackie Werstler won 6-2, 6-1 at No. 1 singles. Kayla Schipper lost her first set at No. 3 singles, but won the next two to push the Lady Wildcats lead to 2-1.

The No. 2 doubles duo of Katherine Ousley and Izzy Rayner won 6-7 (5-7), 7-5, 6-3 to secure the win for Whitko after it was tied 2-2 heading into the match.

The Lady Wildcats host Manchester tonight at 5 p.m.



Bethany Christian Hands Triton First Loss

WATERFORD MILLS – The Triton Lady Trojan tennis team lost 3-2 at Bethany Christian on Monday.

Triton moved to 7-1 for the season. Kolbie Mason won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 singles. The tandem of Hannah Wanemacher and Emma Ross won their No. 1 doubles match 6-2, 6-1. 

Haley Hooley lost in three sets at No. 3 singles.

The Lady Trojans travel to Bremen on Wednesday. The match begins at 4:30 p.m.

NORTH MANCHESTER – The Manchester boys golf team won 185-203 over West Noble at Sycamore Golf Club on Monday.

Manchester’s Nathan Self was the medalist with a 40. Harley Kruschwitz followed with a 41.

Klayton Hendrix carded a 48 and Logan Parrett shot a 56. Konrad Borgmann rounded out the golfers for the Squires with a 57.

Manchester hosts Whitko and Northfield for a three-way match tonight at Sycamore.
