Billy Ray Wadkins, 66, Silver Lake, passed away at 7:01 a.m. Sunday, March 25, 2018, in Visiting Nurse Hospice Home, Fort Wayne.

He was born April 9, 1951, in Prestonsburg, Ky., to George and Alma Robinson Wadkins. On Sept. 28, 1968, he was united in marriage to Donna Gillman, who survives.

He worked in the agriculture industry for Creighton Brothers, retiring in 2014.

He is survived by his wife, daughter Leslie (Troy) Hackworth, and sons Tommy Wadkins and Justin Wadkins, all of Silver Lake. He is also survived by his sisters: Judy (Mark) Fenton, Warsaw; Mary (Delmer) Estep, Palestine; and Maggie Gang, North Manchester; and a brother, Jerry (Regina) Wadkins, North Webster. He is further survived by his grandchildren: Amanda Sexton, Silver Lake; Lachelle Hackworth, Silver Lake; Anthony Wadkins, Packerton; and Sophie Wadkins, Packerton; and great-grandchildren, Gabrielle Sexton and Landen Sexton, both of Silver Lake.

He was preceded by his parents, George and Alma Wadkins; and brothers: George Wadkins Jr., James E. Wadkins and Charles M. Wadkins.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, March 29, in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw.

A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in the funeral chapel, with Pastor Glenn Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery, Claypool.
