Private David Barrett, 21, Warsaw, graduated from the United States Marine Corps boot camp at Marine Corps Recruit Depo in San Diego, Calif., March 16.

He successfully completed 13 weeks of intensive basic training with Kilo Company Platoon 3230. While in training, Barrett earned the designation of rifle expert.

Following his 10-days leave, he will report to Camp Pendleton California for Marine combat training. Following combat training, he will attend Military Occupation Specialty School.

Barrett, a graduate of Warsaw Community High School, is the son of John and Lovie Barrett.
