Auditions Thursday For ‘The Victory’

Patricia Brennan See and Sheryl Hanna have written a full-length historical mystery, romance, comedy and will hold an audition Thursday night.

The Victory Players will product the show, titled “The Victory,” from June 1-3 at Lakeview Middle School in Warsaw.

The audition begins at 6:30 p.m. at the United Methodist Church, 179 S. Indiana St., Warsaw, in the fellowship room.

There are 16 parts in the play, some of which have already been cast. However, they still need four women and four men from late 20s or early 30s to 50s or older.

The setting is the Victory Hotel when it was a modest railroad hotel in the late ’30s.  Several historical people, places and events are referenced throughout the play.

Relay To ‘Paint The Town Purple’ Saturday

NORTH MANCHESTER — Join the American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Wabash County in North Manchester and "Paint the Town Purple" on Saturday.

The meeting will begin at 10 a.m. at The Firehouse in downtown North Manchester.

Businesses, community organizations and individuals are asked to show their support for Relay for Life and help raise awareness for the fight against cancer by decking the town in purple – including homes, restaurants, businesses, meeting halls or other areas.

The goal is to get people to think “Celebrate, Remember and Fight Back!” when they see purple. Whether you use purple chalk to write an uplifting message, display a different reminder each day about important cancer screenings or dress a mannequin in Relay gear, it’s all about letting people know that there is hope.

Paint the Town Purple supports Relay For Life of Wabash County in North Manchester, an event to bring the community together in the fight against cancer. This year’s event will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. April 21 at the MCS Administration Building, 404 W. Ninth St., North Manchester.
