Problem Is Class Basketball

I have read both letters about Coach Ogle — Jeff Johnson and Frank Grose. One wrote about basketball, the other wrote about character.
I’m like Howard Cosell: I never played the game, but I do have some common sense.
If we talk about basketball, Warsaw would never win a big game. Their main weapons are a stall and the foul line. When Indianapolis changed to class basketball. No more Hickorys or Milans. Fort Wayne and South Bend recruit and pay tuition for some players. Most teams are more athletic than Warsaw. Athletic teams play fast and loose, less athletic teams play slow and deliberate. What would happen if high schools had a shot clock like college or the NBA? Would Warsaw win any games?
Now the character of Coach Ogle. I don’t know Mr. Ogle. I have heard the talk, the positive and negative. The only times that I?have seen Coach Ogle have been on the sidelines on the court. His plan of attack may be old-fashioned, but his players have bought into his methods.
If Mr. Johnson has a problem with the Warsaw basketball program, he should blame class basketball, not the coach.
