Donald Eugene Gibson, 83, Warsaw, went home to be with his Lord and Savior at 5 a.m. Monday, March 5, 2018, at Peabody Retirement Community.

He was born March 26, 1934, to Elizabeth Gibson in Prestonsburg, Ky. On Nov. 23, 1979, he was married to Marilyn Jean Baldwin, who survives.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1951 until his honorable discharge in 1962. He served in Germany in the military police, and served in the 101st Airborne Paratrooper Division with various other duties.

He is also survived by his brother, Elbert (Nancy) Gibson; a stepdaughter, Michelle (Keith) Young; and two stepgrandchildren, Tiffani and John Young. Also, he is survived by nephews Thomas (Pam) and Edward (April), nieces Cathy (Darrell) Ramey and Nancy Frazier, and a host of great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth; brother Edward; and a sister, Mary Ann Frazier.

He will be missed by a host of family and friends.

A memorial service with full military rites will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 20, at Marion National Cemetery.
