She was born Oct. 9, 1928, in Fort Wayne, to Paul P. and Pauline E. Ritter Lamprecht.
She was a lifetime Kosciusko County area resident, graduated in 1946 from Mentone High School and attended Fort Wayne Business College.
On June 10, 1949, in Bremen, she married Melvin L. “Ledru” Gray, who preceded her on Sept. 19, 2015.
She retired from Wawasee Community School Corp. as cafeteria manager at North Webster School after 22 years of service. After retirement she worked part time for the North Webster Daycare 10 years and Smith Walbridge Camp in Syracuse, and volunteered at the North Webster Food Pantry. She was a Girl Scout Leader in North Webster for 15 years.
She was a member of North Webster United Methodist Church, was a Sunday school teacher for 30 years and a former member of the Backwater Friends.
She is survived by two daughters, Carolyn (Glenn) Meeks, Pigeon Forge, Tenn., and Melody (Dan) Ewald, Leesburg; one son, Lynn Gray, Leesburg; two grandchildren, Eric and Casandra Ewald; a brother, Paul Lamprecht, Andrews; a sister-in-law, Marjorie Moneyheffer; and a brother-in-law, Harold Baker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Jeanette Thomas and Josephine Baker; and an infant brother, Robert Wayne Lamprecht.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 13, at Owen Family Funeral Home, Ind. 13 and C.R. 500N, North Webster.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 14, in the funeral home, with Pastor Byron Kaiser and Robert Dailey officiating. Burial will follow in Mock Addition of North Webster Cemetery.
