A witness said he was in the left travel lane westbound on U.S. 30 approaching the intersection when Heminger’s pickup passed him on the right and then swerved back into the left lane, crashing into the stopped traffic waiting to turn southbound on East Center Street, according to a Warsaw Police Department accident report.

Lubarski said he was stopped in the westbound turn lane of U.S. 30 preparing to turn south on East Center Street. He heard a loud bang and the passenger side of his car was hit by Andrew McCarty’s SUV.

Andrew McCarty said he was stopped in the westbound turn lane of U.S. 30 preparing to turn southbound on East Center Street when he heard a boom and then the rear passenger side of his SUV was hit by the front of Heminger’s pickup. The force of the collision with Heminger caused Andrew’s SUV to collide with Lubarski’s car and Brian McCarty’s vehicles.

Brian McCarty said he was stopped in the westbound turn lane of U.S. 30 preparing to turn south on East Center Street when his van was hit by Andrew’s SUV. That collision caused the front of Brian’s van to hit the rear of Castle’s van.
