By Staff Report-
After 14 years as the team’s head coach, Steve McBride announced earlier this week he is stepping down.
Under McBride, the Lady Trojans won five sectional championships, including the program’s first in 2008.
McBride led Triton to its only regional championship in 2014.
“Coach McBride is and always will be a special part of Triton’s history,” said Triton Athletic Director Mason McIntyre.
“His dedication and commitment to the Triton softball program was outstanding. He will be hard to replace.”
In a social media post, McIntrye went on to say that the Triton Athletic Department wishes McBride nothing but the best as he enjoys time away from softball, spending more time watching his grandchildren participate in athletics.
Triton was 8-10 overall in the 2018 season. The Lady Trojans beat Argos in the sectional opener before falling to LaCrosse.
A replacement for McBride has not been named yet.
