Thames Richard “T.R.” Malcolm of Warsaw passed away Monday, June 11, 2018, at his residence at the age of 86.

He was born in Warsaw on Aug. 12, 1931, to Thames Milton and Mary Elizabeth Malcolm. He was married to Loeta Malcolm, who passed away in July 2013.

He graduated from Warsaw High School and then joined the military. He spent one year in the U.S. Marines and proudly served 19 years in the U.S. Navy. T.R. had several tours in Korea and Vietnam. He received the Good Conduct Medal (Fourth Award) and National Defense Medal with one bronze star.

Prior to his retirement, he worked for the city of Warsaw maintenance department. In his retirement he enjoyed traveling the country in his motor home with his wife, Loeta, and their dogs.

He is survived by his two sons, Thames “Mike” (wife Jan) Malcolm and James “Jim” (wife Elvia) Malcolm; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Anita (husband Jim) Siccardi; and two stepsons, Don (wife Shelley) Kindred and John Kindred, and their families.

T.R was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Loeta; and his great-grandson, Luca Eberhard.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, June 18, at Marion National Cemetery, 1700 E. 38th St., Marion, with full military honors.

Arrangements were entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, Warsaw.
