Homeplace Mobile Home Park asks for Residents’ Help in

Keeping Clean Water

Notice to property owners, leaseholders and owners of mineral rights located within 3,000 feet Radius  of the Homeplace Mobile Home Park Wellhead Protection area (WHPA).

In March 1997, the State of Indiana passed a law to protect groundwater that is used by public water suppliers. The law is referred to as the Wellhead Protection Plan (WHP). The basic principle is to protect the water before it flows into the wells that are used by public and private water users.

Homplace Mobile Home Park (HMHP) has obtained approval from the Indiana Department of Environmental Management to use a radius of 3,000 feet around their wells as our area of protection (Wellhead Protection Area). The  HMHP utilizes two wells in one well field  to obtain their drinking water from. Therefore, they have one WHPA.

Their WHPA encompasses the area within the park's well houses' area, this is 0.15 of a mile due east of the HMHP office, located at 2792 S. Country Club Road, in Warsaw. Indiana,  or the WHPA extends from the wellheads east for 0.6 of a mile, south 0.6 of a mile, west  0.6 of a mile, and north 0.6 of a mile.

If you do own or lease property in HMHP WHPA, we are asking for your cooperation in keeping this area free of contamination. If you would like information on WHP Program or would like to get involved in the protection efforts, please call the park office manager, Cynthia Orland at (574) 267-7859.

Remember to practice good environmental methods such as proper disposal of all chemicals, oil, antifreeze, animal waste, household cleaners, paint, etc. Keep your septic systems in good working condition. Properly plug abandoned old wells. Properly dispose of batteries. Whenever possible restrict the use of pesticides and fertilizers to protect the water, as well as your own health.

Homeplace Mobile Home Park’s completed WHP plan can be viewed at the park office located at 2792 S. Country Club Road, in Warsaw. Indiana.
