By late this morning, many people had their lawn chairs and blankets out for tonight’s free classic rock concert in Central Park. One family has taken it a step further, with blankets, lawn chairs, coolers and food all under a canopy. Doreen Honeycutt said her family has sat in the same spot on the west side of the park for the annual classic rock concert in Central Park for the past nine years. “We get here and spend the whole day,” she said. They also make the country concert a family event. Normally, she said, they have two canopies but just brought one this year. Tonight’s concert starts at 6:30 p.m. with local band Pick Slide, and headliner classic rockers Night Ranger taking the Glover Pavilion stage at 8 p.m. The country concert is July 20.
