Jimmie Bryon Thomas, Warsaw, passed away at 8:55 a.m. Saturday, May 26, 2018, at his residence at the age of 82.

He was born April 28, 1936, in Kennett, Mo., to Herbert Thomas and Golda May Alsup Thomas. On Jan. 5, 1965, he was married to Loretta L. Hunt, who passed away on Sept. 25, 2017.

Jimmie attended Beaver Dam School, and in 1955 he joined the U.S. Army. He proudly served for two years in Germany. He was a truck driver out of California for many years, and then drove a tour bus. In later years he volunteered as a security guard for KEMRAD in Warsaw.

Jimmie was a kind and trusting soul who enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and fishing, and was an avid bird watcher. He will be dearly missed by those who loved him.

He will be lovingly remembered by his two sisters, Hettie De Rossett, Warsaw, and Sue Priest, Indianapolis; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and one stepgrandson.  

A memorial service will be conducted at New Beginnings Community Church, Atwood, at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 9, officiated by Pastor Dennis L. Bollenbacher.

Private burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.

Arrangements are entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, Warsaw.
