Syracuse Public Library

The Friends of the Syracuse Library are appreciated for their financial support and their active involvement in the library activities.

Guests to the library will meet some members at FrankenHowl Open Mic Night on Friday evening at the park. They manage the used book sale and are offering a book sale promotion at the Parker Solar Probe Garden Party. Drinks and cookies will be provided when all ages are invited to learn about the mission to the sun. The event coincides with the community wide garage sales from noon to 4 p.m. Aug. 3.



Bus Trip

The Friends are assisting with the sale of bus trip tickets for the day in Grand Rapids. The Sept. 22 trip is going to the Meijer Gardens and downtown Grand Rapids for the first weekend of ArtPrize.



A Penultimate Week

Rocking at the Library summer reading program for children and teens officially ends on July 31.

Professor Steve is the finale program on Tuesday at 2 p.m. The week from Monday through the July 27 is last full week of children’s activities. A Scottish tea time on July 26 at 2 p.m. comes with a romp with music from “Brave.”



Teen Programs

The teen programs have hit a regular stride when anime fan club meets on Thursday at 5 p.m. Other monthly teen times are for video gaming night and Harry Potter crafts.

Chair Yoga

Chair yoga continues to welcome people for a half hour workout on Tuesdays at 10:15 a.m., Thursdays at 9:30 a.m. and the second to fifth Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. The Thursday 10:30 a.m. class meets at the Community Center and is particularly good for individuals with disabilities.



WorkOne

WorkOne, a free resource for job and training connections is offered at the Syracuse Library every Wednesday from 1 to 3:30 p.m.
