Warsaw Man Faces Charges; Accused Of Stealing From Employer

A Warsaw man was arrested Friday after allegedly stealing more than $6,000 from his employer in seven months.

Joshua Michael Lainez, 29, of 1320 Gable Drive, Warsaw, was arrested and booked into the Kosciusko County Jail at 5:03 p.m. Friday for theft – $750 to $50,000. His bond was set at $5,250.

Court documents filed Friday list the charges against him as four counts of theft, level 6 felonies.

On March 26, a business contacted the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department regarding a theft by an employee, Lainez.

Detective Todd Sauter spoke with the company’s loss prevention specialist who said that between July 2017 to January 2018, Lainez stole $6,425 from the company. He said Lainez admitted to stealing money from the business.

The loss prevention specialist advised that in July 2017, Lainez stole $1,211; $1,320 in August 2017; $1,507 in September 2017; and $1,139 in January 2018 .

Sauter spoke with Lainez who reportedly admitted to stealing money from the company.
