Two Teens Arrested After Alleged Battery, Purse-Stealing Incident

Two 18-year-olds were arrested Friday after five people allegedly battered a woman and stole her purse near downtown Warsaw.
Kimberly L. Northern, 18, of 532 E. Center St., #4, Warsaw, was arrested and booked into the Kosciusko County Jail Friday morning for battery with moderate bodily injury and robbery with a deadly weapon or bodily injury. Her preliminary bond was set at $20,250.
Court documents list the charges against her as robbery, a level 5 felony; battery with moderate bodily injury, a level 6 felony; and theft, a Class A misdemeanor.
Jordan Jeffrey Bronsing, 18, of 504 Fort Wayne St., C, Warsaw, was arrested and booked into the KCJ Friday morning for battery with moderate bodily injury and robbery with a deadly weapon or bodily injury. His preliminary bond was set at $20,250.
Court documents list the charges against Bronsing as aiding, inducing or causing a robbery, a level 5 felony; and aiding, inducing or causing theft, a Class A misdemeanor.
On Friday, Warsaw police officer Ross Minear responded to a report of a battery. Upon arrival, he found a woman who had dried blood on her face, arms and legs and several scrapes on her knees and elbows. She also had bumps on her head under her hair and she was complaining of pain to her head and to her right foot, which she thought was possibly broken. Her right foot had a large swollen bump on top of it.

She said she was walking along Jefferson Street near the Victory Hotel when two men and three women came down the street. She said they started yelling at her and Northern hit her in the face. All five of the people began punching and kicking the woman as she was lying on the ground. They then took her purse that contained a cellphone and medications. The woman was able to provide a description of each of people.
Minear spoke with a witness who said she heard a woman yelling. She looked out and saw the her laying on the ground with five people standing over her. The five then ran toward the east.
After a search, officers found the victim’s purse and a pill bottle with her name on the label in the area of a downtown pizza establishment.
Officers learned the people matching the descriptions were near the intersection of Park Avenue and Arthur Street in Warsaw. Officers found the four, including Bronsing. Blood was seen on two of the people, identified only as “AA” and “CC.”
WPD officer Paul Heaton spoke with Bronsing who admitted “AA,” “BB,” “CC”, Northern and he saw a woman on Jefferson Street and she began yelling at them. Northern then struck the victim in the face and they “beat her up good,” according to court documents. They then all fled.
Heaton then spoke with Northern who said the victim was calling her names. Northern admitted she punched the victim in the face, took her purse and ran away, leaving the purse near the pizza restaurant.
WPD officer Gordon Allen spoke with “CC” who said “AA,” “BB,” Bronsing, Northern and she were walking down Jefferson Street and saw the victim who was calling them names and she punched the victim in the nose, who then fell to the ground.
Northern, “AA” and she began kicking the victim while she was on the ground while “CC” and Bronsing watched.
She said Northern took the victim’s purse because they thought there was methamphetamine or marijuana in the purse.
Court documents do not indicate the names of “AA,” “BB” or “CC”, their ages or if there were any charges filed against them.
