DUNLAP – The Northern Lakes Conference hosted its boys swimming championships on Saturday, with Northridge taking the team title. Wawasee and Warsaw placed third and fourth, respectively.

Wawasee tallied 310 points for its team. Jared Krugman finished second in the 500 freestyle event and Brady Robinson earned second in the 100 backstroke race. Krugman also received third in the 200 free and Robinson had the same result in the 200 individual medley.

Austin Dunithan and Brady Claassen finished the diving event in third and fourth for the Warriors. The 200 freestyle relay team of Brett Willaman, Isaiah Metcalf, Robinson and Krugman captured fourth in the race.

For Warsaw, Grant Knight won the 100 breaststroke event, finishing in 57.77. Evan Borchers had a second-place result in the 100 butterfly, just edging the third-place finisher by .05 seconds. 

Alex Cook earned two third-place nods for the day in the 50 and 100 freestyle races. 

The 200 medley relay of Ian Deming, Nick Bazzoni, Borchers and Knight received second with a time of 1:40.94. 

Wawasee will be back in action on Tuesday at home. The Warriors will host East Noble at 6 p.m. Warsaw will take some time off and come back to the pool on Feb. 15 for sectionals.
