West Drops 24 To Propel Wildcats To TRC Victory
PERU – The Whitko Wildcats were led by their star River West Friday Night, who poured in 24 points, en route to a 56-49 win at Peru.
The Wildcats (7-11, 4-2 TRC) jumped out to an 18-10 lead after the first period. Whitko added another 20 points before the half ended and led 38-17.
In the third period, both teams scored over 10 points, with Peru holding the advantage 15-13. The lead started to dwindle in the last eight minutes of play, as Whitko was outscored 17-5.
Brett Sickafoose contributed 12 points and three assists, Brian Collins netted 11 and Spencer Sroufe grabbed 14 boards.
The Wildcats are back in action tonight at home, playing against TRC?foe Maconaquah. The school will hold a Military Appreciation Night

Whitko Loses TRC Battle Against Wabash
WABASH – The Whitko girls basketball team couldn’t slow down Wabash Friday night, losing 62-23 on the road. The Lady Wildcats allowed at least 15 points in each quarter.
Whitko (2-19, 1-7 TRC), which is on a three-game losing skid, was paced by Emi Duggins’ eight points. Ellie Snep dished in seven and Kayla Schipper tallied five.
The Lady Wildcats are back in action tonight for their regualr season finale against Maconaquah. The game will begin at 6:30 p.m., with the boys to follow. The girls game is designated as a Pink Out and there is also a Military Appreciation Night for both contests.

SYRACUSE – Wawasee held a 17-15 lead at halftime, but visiting Concord came back to take a 33-30 overtime win over the Warriors in Northern Lakes Conference boys basketball Friday night.
The Warriors led 13-6 after the first quarter, but were held to two points in the third period and trailed by two entering the final eight minutes. The Minutemen held Wawasee without a field goal in the four-minute overtime period.
Aaron Evans led Wawasee with 10 points, and Jairus Boyer added eight for Wawasee. Michael Johnson led all scorers with 16 for Concord.
The loss is Wawasee’s 46th in 47 conference games.
In the junior varsity game, Kameron Salazar scored 10 points for Wawasee in its 33-30 win over the Minutemen.
The Warriors are right back at it tonight, hosting Lakeland in a non-conference tilt at the Hardwood Teepee.
