He was born June 25, 1937, along with his twin brother Jan, to Kenneth and Darlene Tharp Miller in Goshen. They joined an older brother, Duane.
He attended Waterford Elementary School, Goshen, and graduated from New Paris High School. He received an associate degree in accounting at International Business College, Fort Wayne.
He married Sarah Lee Lopp and raised their children, Leisha and Darren Miller; they divorced in 1977. He was united in marriage to Sonya Kennedy in 1978 in Warsaw. Sonya had a daughter, Amy.
He had worked for Studebaker and BA Lehman accounting, then for Troyer Foods, Goshen, retiring after 33 years as an accountant. He was a member of Warsaw First Brethren Church.
Being a twin made Jon a competitive person, so his natural passion was sports, bowling, golf and softball. Jon would like to be remembered as one of the Miller twins who enjoyed life.
He is survived by his wife, Sonya Miller, Warsaw; a son, Darren Miller, Osceola; two daughters, Leisha (Miguel) Ortiz, Atlanta, Ga., and Amy (Verton) Troyer, Warsaw; and three grandchildren who made him proud: Logan Fincher, Atlanta; Jason (Cora) Kennedy, Huntington; and Brittany Kennedy, Warsaw. He also had several nieces and nephews, and his dog, Abby.
He was preceded by his parents and two brothers.
Visitation will be private.
A committal service will be held at Oakwood Cemetery Chapel, Warsaw, at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 29, with Pastor Howard Immel officiating.
