Lady Trojans Roll Over Culver Community Again

LAKEVILLE – For the second time in six nights, Culver Community barely made it into double figures in a girls basketball game with Triton.

Thursday night the Lady Trojans beat the Lady Cavaliers 42-10 in the consolation round of the Bi-County Tournament at LaVille High School.

Triton won a Hoosier North Athletic Conference game 54-10 at Culver on Jan.12.

Charlotte Morris paced Triton with nine points. Hannah Wanemacher went 4 of 4 from the free throw line and finished with eight points.

Whytnie Miller scored seven points, Delaney Groves and Abigail Powell had six points each, and Jaela Faulkner, Chelsea Johnson and Nicole Sechrist had two points each.

Now 10-11 overall, Triton concludes its regular season with a conference game at North Judson Jan. 26. The game is likely to have HNAC title implications, with Triton at 5-1 and the Lady Bluejays at 3-0 in the conference currently.



Cougars Drop Road Game

ELKHART – Landon Twombly tied for game-high honors with 14 points for Lakeland Christian in its 51-31 non-conference boys basketball loss at Elkhart Christian Thursday night.

Josh McDaniel had six points, Jake Harmon 5, Noah Twombly 4 and Braxton Keller two points to round out the Cougar scoring.

Gabe Arter and Weston Sage had 14 points each for Elkhart Christian.

Now 7-8 overall, LCA hosts Clinton Christian in a non-conference game Saturday night.

Two Trojans Named IFCA Region 2 All-Stars

SOUTH BEND – A pair of Triton players were named Indiana Football Coaches Association Region 2 All-Stars Thursday.

Drew Stichter was named as a tight end, and Max Slusser was tabbed as a free safety.

In 2017 Triton had its best football season since 2008, winning eight games and finishing as a sectional runner-up.
