Milford Man Faces Charges Over Theft Of Diesel Fuel

A Milford man was arrested on theft charges after allegedly stealing more than 60 gallons of diesel fuel from a local farm.

Henry Ray Kidd, 24, of 501 E. CR 1300N, Milford, was arrested and booked into the Kosciusko County Jail at 11:43 a.m. Tuesday. His bond was set at $3,000.

According to court documents filed Friday, Kidd faces two counts of theft, Class A misdemeanors, both enhanced to level 6 felonies.

On Jan. 5, Indiana State Police Trooper Kyle Dukes spoke with the victim who said he had 60 to 70 gallons of diesel fuel stolen on four or five different occasions between  Dec. 4 through Dec. 19.

On Dec. 19, the victim conducted surveillance on the fuel tank and saw a truck pull up to the tank and begin fueling. The victim drove up to the people who then fled in a vehicle, according to the court documents. He provided Dukes with a vehicle registration.

Dukes found the vehicle registration belonged to Kidd and he spoke with him. Kidd admitted he and Michael Ward stole diesel fuel from the farm on five different occasions and on Dec. 19 the victim chased them, the court documents state.

Dukes spoke with Ward who admitted he and Kidd stole the fuel.

Kidd was previously convicted of theft on July 6, 2017, in Kosciusko County Superior Court I and convicted of conversion on June 18, 2014, in Kosciusko County Superior Court II. Kidd also has an active criminal case for theft in Kosciusko County Superior Court III, according to court documents.
