Fast Start Leads Lady Vikings To Lopsided TRC Victory
PERU – Class 3A No. 7 Tippecanoe Valley bolted to a 21-9 lead after the first quarter and rolled to a 76-29 Three Rivers Conference girls basketball win at Peru Tuesday.
The Lady Vikings outscored Peru by at least nine points in all four quarters.
Four Valley players were in double figures, led by Sophie Bussard with 18 points. Addy Miller had 16, Makenzie Woodcox 12 and Emily Peterson 10 points for the Lady Vikings. Nine players scored for Tippecanoe Valley.
Three Valley players scored in double figures in the 47-24 junior varsity win over the Lady Tigers. Sidney Wagner had 17 points, Emma Craig 12 and Emily Backus 10 points.
Now 16-3 overall and 5-2 in the TRC, Valley will host Southwood in conference play Saturday.

Manchester Cruises To Easy Win Over Blackhawk
NORTH MANCHESTER – Kennedy Fierstos had 16 points and Eva Bazzoni added nine points for Manchester in its 48-20 non-conference girls basketball win over Fort Wayne Blackhawk Tuesday night.
Manchester outscored the Lady Braves 14-4 in both the first and second quarters and 11-2 in the final period.
In the junior varsity game, Emma Garriott had nine points and Kyrsten Eakright tallied eight points for the Lady Squires in their 47-16 win over Blackhawk.
The Manchester varsity has won three of four games to improve to 10-9 overall and get over .500 for the first time since November. They will play a key Three Rivers Conference game at Rochester Friday night. Both teams have just one loss in TRC play.

Triton Boys, Girls Fall In Bi-County Tournament
BREMEN – Triton’s boys and girls basketball teams lost close games to Bremen in the first round of the Bi-County Tournament Tuesday night. The Lady Trojans fell 38-32 while the boys game was 47-45 in favor of the host Lions.
The Lady Lions were tied at 27 with Triton heading into the final period before outscoring the Lady Trojans 11-5 over the last eight minutes.
Whytnie Miller led the Lady Trojans with 12 points, and Nicole Sechrist added 11 points. Hannah Wanemacher had nine points and six rebounds and Chelsea Johnson pulled down six boards.
The boys game was also knotted up at 27 after three quarters. Bremen scored the first nine points of the fourth period before Triton came back. There were 12 lead changes and nine ties in the game.
Ross Johnson led Triton with 23 points. Jared Bules and Dylan Hensley had five rebounds each.
The Lady Trojans will take on Culver Community in a consolation game at LaVille, with tipoff scheduled for 8 p.m. Thursday. Triton defeated the Lady Cavaliers 54-10 Friday night in Culver.
The Trojan boys play John Glenn at LaVille, with that game tipping off at 8 p.m. Friday.

LCA Wins 4th Straight
GRANGER – Lakeland Christian won its fourth-straight boys basketball game Tuesday night, taking a 64-54 decision over host Granger Christian in Hoosier Plains Conference play. The streak is LCA’s longest since 2005.

The Cougars improved to 7-7 overall and 2-0 in the HPC. They travel to Elkhart Christian for a non-conference game Thursday.
Wildcats Fall To Flying Jets
MONROE – Brett Sickafoose had 22 points and Spencer Sroufe added 10 points and four rebounds for Whitko in its 56-48 non-conference boys basketball loss at Adams Central Tuesday night.
Shad Ebbinghouse had eight points and five rebounds, and River West had three points and a team-high seven rebounds for Whitko. Drake Lewis had three points and Micah Cokl two to round out the Wildcat scoring.
Now 5-10, Whitko returns to Three Rivers Conference play Friday night at Northfield in the third of five straight away games for the Wildcats.
Wawasee Gymnasts Roll
LIGONIER – Wawasee took the top four spots in the all-around in its 103.55-80.375 gymnastics win at West Noble Tuesday.
Regan Atwood was first in the vault and beam, second in the floor exercise and third on the bars, taking the top spot in the all-around. Jada Parzygnot was second in the all-around after winning the floor ex, taking second on the bars and finishing third in the vault and beam.
Alyssa Minnix claimed third place in the all-around by winning on the bars, taking second on the vault, fourth on the beam and finishing fifth in the floor ex. Aundreya Wegener was fourth in the all-around after her second-place finish on the beam, taking third on the floor and fourth on the bars.
Next up for Wawasee is a three-way meet with Peru at Warsaw Tuesday.
Tiger Swimmers Split With Culver Academies
CULVER – Warsaw’s swimming teams split their meets at Culver Academies Tuesday night. The Lady Tigers dropped a 105-78 decision while the boys took a 116-64 victory.
Evan Borchers, Grant Knight and Nick Zogbi were double winners for the Tigers. Borchers won the 200 freestyle and 100 butterfly, Knight the 200 individual medley and 100 breaststroke, and Zogbi the 500 free and 100 backstroke. The Tigers also won all three relay races.
Laurel Moeller and Taylor Gunter each won twice for the Lady Tigers. Moeller won the 200 and 500 frees and Gunter the 200 IM and 100 butterfly. Warsaw won the 200 freestyle relay in 1:47.28.
Both Warsaw teams are 7-3 in dual meets this season. The regular season wraps up for the teams Saturday with a dual meet at LaPorte.
Squire Wrestlers Fall
CHURUBUSCO – Elijah Burlingame (106 pounds), Braden Fortner (138), Delton Moore (170) and Bryce Kamphues (285) won their matches for Manchester in its 53-15 non-conference wrestling loss at Churubusco Tuesday.
Next up for the Squires is the Three Rivers Conference Tournament at Maconaquah Saturday.
