NORTH MANCHESTER — Arthur L. Cook, 81, Silver Lake, died at 2 a.m. Jan. 15, 2018, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.

He was born Feb. 25, 1936, in Silver Lake, to Emery E. and Mary E. Fingerle Cook. He married Patricia Ann Wrightsman on March 14, 1954. She passed away May 24, 2008.

He retired from Manchester Foundry after 39-plus years of service.

He was a member of Eel River Old German Baptist Brethren Church, Silver Lake.

Survivors include two sons, Doug (Elma) Cook, Claypool, and Glen A. Cook, Franklin, N.C.; two daughters, Mary Ann Metzger, Zillah, Wash., and Gail (Randy) Metzger, North Manchester; two sisters, Opal (Everett) Metzger, Lima, Ohio, and Ruth (Robert) Bowers, Silver Lake; 15 grandchildren; one stepgrandchild; 34 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.    

He was preceded by his parents; two brothers, Edward E. Cook and Marvin Cook; a son-in-law, Keith Barton; and one grandson, Eric Cook, who died in 1994.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 18, in Eel River Old German Baptist Brethren Church, Packerton Road and CR 1200W, Silver Lake, with the home brethren officiating. Burial will be in Eel River Old German Baptist Brethren Cemetery, Silver Lake.

Calling is from 2 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 17, at the church.
