Elaine Greco, 86, passed away Jan. 2, 2018, while under the care of Arbor Hospice.

She is survived by her two daughters, Susan Vega (Tom) and Sally Davis; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, who died Nov. 2, 2017. Elaine and Frank had been married for 66 years.

Elaine was born in Chicago, Ill., to Edward and Mildred Simunek Smetana. She graduated in 1948 from Morton High School in Cicero, Ill., where she met her husband on a school trip to Colorado. They later moved to Downers Grove, Ill., and Warsaw.

While in Warsaw, Elaine was active in the Welcome Wagon, Red Cross and the First Presbyterian Church (now Warsaw Evangelical Presbyterian Church). Elaine was the administrative secretary to the administrator of Kosciusko Community Hospital for 17 years.

Elaine and Frank retired to Hemet, Calif., 22 years ago. They first resided at Sierra Dawn Estates, then to The Camelot for the past two years. They were members of the Hemet Presbyterian Church.

Elaine was a member of the Travel Club while at Sierra Dawn and had a love of travel and reading as well as a mastery of cooking and baking.

A celebration of life will be held at Camelot Village at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, in the Debbie Johnson Room (DJR).
