The contest will accept any painted, drawn, knitted, sewn or sculpted art. The only requirement is that the artwork represent an aspect of local agriculture.
Entries should be submitted to the Kosciusko County Extension Office by 4:30 p.m. March 1.
“We wanted to plan something that would bring different members of the community together to highlight, learn about and celebrate agriculture in Kosciusko County,” said Purdue Extension’s special projects coordinator, Mikaela Conley. “This will give people who are any age and from any background a chance to come together and learn about something that is so crucial to their everyday lives.”
The contest has four categories:?youth grades K-4, junior division; grades 5-7, intermediate division; grades 9-12, high school division; and the adult division.
There is no entry fee.
The gallery will be in various locations in Kosciusko County throughout March. Winners from each division will be announced at the Kosciusko County Taste of Agriculture April 10. The community will have the opportunity to vote for a winner in each division.
Submissions must be packaged for shipping to ensure safe transportation to each gallery location.
Grades K-12 also may submit their artwork as a 4-H project to be judged at the 2018 Kosciusko County Fair. Enrollment can be completed at www.in.4honline.com.
