Flooding Prompts Triton Hoops Moves

BOURBON – Triton’s home girls basketball game with Winamac tonight, as well as Thursday’s boys game with Bethany Christian, will be played at Triton Elementary School. A broken water pipe in a locker room and subsequent runoff onto the gym floor at the high school overnight Sunday into Monday prompted the move.
Because of the move, tonight’s junior high boys game with Bremen is cancelled and will not be rescheduled.
A Tweet from Triton Athletics said "it’s projected that the floor won’t be in playable condition for at least a month."
Tonight's girls hoops game is the last home game on the Lady Trojan schedule. The boys team has six other home games after Thursday; Jan. 23 vs. Elkhart Christian, Jan. 27 against North Judson, Feb. 1 vs. Argos, Feb. 9 vs. LaVille, Feb. 13 vs. Rochester and Feb. 23 vs. Knox to close the regular season.Triton is scheduled to host a 1A boys sectional Feb. 27-March 3 and a regional tournament March 10.
The Trojan wrestling team is scheduled to host Northfield on Jan. 17 and the Hoosier North Athletic Conference tournament Jan. 20.
