Suspect Sought In Armed Robbery

Warsaw police are searching for a suspect in Tuesday morning’s armed robbery at the Country Mark gas station – formerly Freedom Express – at 801 E. Center St.

At 10:24 a.m. Tuesday, Kosciusko County Central Dispatch received a 911 call from the business saying the store had been robbed at knife point, and that the suspect had fled the area, according to a news release from Warsaw Police Department.

The suspect has been identified as a white male, wearing a black leather jacket with a white stripe on both sleeves, blue jeans and blue and white shoes. The man’s face was covered by a black and white Jack Daniels bandana and sunglasses.

Officers searched the area, but were unable to find the suspect.

During the initial investigation, officers determined that the suspect approached the clerk and displayed a knife. The suspect and clerk walked to the register and removed cash from the register. The clerk was then forced into a cooler before the robber fled. The robber left with an undisclosed amount of cash.

This investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact Warsaw Police at 574-372-9540.
