Thomas “Glen” Allen, 84, Silver Lake, went home to be with the Lord Monday, Feb. 26, 2018.

Glen was born Nov. 10, 1933, to Hatcher and Maudie England Allen. He married Effie Howard on March 12, 1955, in Wabash; she survives.

He enjoyed wood working, fishing and hunting. He was a farmer for many years and enjoyed working outside in the garden.

He was a deacon at Free United Baptist Church, Pierceton, and retired from Controls in North Manchester after 30 years of service. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and enjoyed spending time with all his family.

Glen is survived by his wife of 63 years, Effie, Silver Lake; a daughter, Kimberly Allen (Ron) Yates, Packerton; a daughter-in-law, Rhonda Allen, Silver Lake; three grandchildren: Heath Allen, Matthew Allen and Shane Yates; and four great-grandchildren: Audrey Allen, Bryar Allen, Tyler Yates and Brayden Yates.

He was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Ray Allen; four sisters; and two brothers.

A service celebrating Glen’s life will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 1, at Free United Baptist Church, 7035 South Ind. 13, Pierceton; Pastor Ward Etsie Allen will officiate the service. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery, Silver Lake.

Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at the church.

Arrangements were entrusted to Heritage Funeral and Cremation Services, Warsaw.
