    On March 5, 2018 at 7:00 p.m., the Board of School Trustees of the Tippecanoe Valley School Corporation will meet to discuss and hear objections to and support for a proposed Superintendent contract.  A summary of the proposed Superintendent’s contract is as follows:  

    * Base salary:  $110,000.00.  The Superintendent shall receive the same base salary increase or one-time stipend in the same amount as the teacher receiving the highest base salary increase and/or one-time stipend.  To be eligible for a base salary increase, the Superintendent must have been evaluated as either highly effective or effective and must meet leadership objectives of the Board.

    * Contract term:  July 1, 2018 through June 30, 2021.  The contract automatically rolls over for another 12-month period if the Board does not give notice to the Superintendent by January 1st of the year the contract expires.

    * Contract days per year:  240

    * Health, Dental, & Vision Insurance:  Permitted to participate in the School Corporation’s group medical, dental and vision insurance plan under the same terms and conditions as other School Corporation administrators. If the Superintendent would elect to participate in the family plan, then the School Corporation’s contribution would presently be $17,764 a year.     

    * Vacation Days:  20 days per year.

    * Personal Days: 5 days per year.

    * Sick Days: 12 days per year.    

    * 403(b) Plan Contribution:  Annual matching contribution up to $1,100.

    * Teacher’s Retirement:  The School Corporation pays the Superintendent’s share of retirement to the Indiana State Teachers’ Retirement Fund, which is an annual amount is $11,550.00.    

    * Life insurance – The Corporation pays the premium to maintain a term life insurance policy with a face value of $100,000.  The current annual cost to the School Corporation for this policy is $774.00.  

    * Long Term Disability Insurance:  Permitted to participate on the long term disability insurance plan under the same terms and conditions as other School Corporation administrators.  The current annual cost to the School Corporation for this benefit is $370.00.

    * The duties and responsibilities of the Superintendent are summarized.

    * Cell Phone and Laptop:  The School Corporation provides a cell phone and a laptop.

    * Retiree Health Insurance:  The Superintendent may participate in the School Corporation’s group medical insurance plan under the same terms and conditions as other School Corporation administrator retirees are entitled to participate in the plan and subject to the eligibility requirements of the plan.  

    The complete proposed contract of the Superintendent will be available on the website of the Tippecanoe Valley School Corporation and will be presented at the March 5, 2018 public hearing.  After the hearing, the Board of School Trustees will consider the input and then it will vote on the proposed contract as an agenda item at a public Board meeting on March 12, 2018 at 7:00 p.m.
