‘Meet Coach Bart Curtis’ Night Planned For Thursday
On Thursday, there will be a "Meet Coach Bart Curtis" night held in the Warsaw Community High School Career Center Gym at 7 p.m. Any 8th-11th grader who has interest in playing football, should plan on attending with their parents. The meeting will last approximately 45 minutes.
Grace Softball Duo Honored By Crossroads League
WINONA LAKE – The first Crossroads League Player of the Week awards of the season were swept by Grace’s softball team.
Dori Knight was the league’s Pitcher of the Week, while Sam Heim earned Player of the Week recognition for the Lady Lancers.
Knight won her first two collegiate games from the mound as a freshman on Saturday. She posted a 0.81 ERA in 8.2 innings against Bethel (Tenn.).
She allowed just one earned run to score in those eight innings while striking out seven batters. She also batted .333 at the plate with a double and a pair of RBIs.
Heim batted .556 for the week with 5 hits, 4 runs and a .667 slugging percentage. She was a perfect 4-for-4 on stolen bases to lead Grace to a sweep of Bethel.
