NORTH WEBSTER — Russell J. “Russ” Moore, 92, Leesburg, passed away at 9:25 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2018, at Mason Health and Rehabilitation Center, Warsaw.

He was born Dec. 5, 1925, in Fort Wayne, to William Earl and Frances I. Kline Moore.

He attended South Side High School in Fort Wayne and was a United States Navy veteran. On Sept. 7, 1946, in Warsaw, he married Constance J. “Joan” Green, who survives.

He moved to Leesburg in 1949 from Fort Wayne. He retired from Dana Corp., Fort Wayne, after 42 years.

He was a life member of American Legion Post 253, North Webster; the 40&8; and the former VFW in Syracuse. He was raised in the Catholic Church in Fort Wayne.  

He is survived by his wife, Joan Moore, Leesburg; two daughters, Cynthia (Scott) Beehler, Nappanee, and Sandra Stewart, Cromwell; two sons, Tom (Rosie) Moore, South Lake, Texas; and Phillip Moore, Leesburg; six grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Janice Ianucilli, Fort Wayne; and two brothers, Jerry Moore, Fort Wayne, and Bill (Becky) Moore, Butler.

He was preceded in death by his parents; five sisters: Gladys Rhodes, Evelyn Stough, Bernice Land, Velma Clausen  and Viola McKee; and two brothers, Bob Moore and Edwin Moore.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 17 at Owen Family Funeral Home, Ind. 13 and CR 500N, North Webster. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home.

Burial will be in Mock Addition of North Webster Cemetery, with military graveside rites performed by the North Webster American Legion.
