Inaugural ‘Night To Shine’ Held Friday

By Staff Report-

On Friday, First Christian Church, with support from the Kosciusko Community YMCA, played host to Warsaw’s first annual Night to Shine event, sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation.

Night to Shine is a prom night experience, centered on God’s love, for people with special needs, ages 14 and older, according to a provided news release. This worldwide movement took place at over 550 churches around the world.

Following pampering of hair, makeup and shoe shinning, all guests arrived by limousine to the event and were each greeted on a red carpet complete with a warm welcome from a friendly crowd and paparazzi, the release states. Once inside, guests received the royal treatment, including corsages and boutonnieres, a catered dinner, karaoke, prom favors for each honored guest, a Respite Room for parents and caretakers and a dance floor, all leading up to the moment when each guest was crowned king or queen of the prom.

Steven Kuhn, Kosciusko Community YMCA, said, “This night far surpassed anything we imagined. The joy of the night will not wear off for a long time. It was such an honor to help share the good news of God’s love to all the guest by showing them our earthly love through this event. It was special.”

As sponsor of Night to Shine, the Tim Tebow Foundation provided each host church with the official 2018 Night to Shine Planning Manual, the official Night to Shine Prom Kit, complete with decorations and gifts for the guests, and personalized guidance and support from a Tim Tebow Foundation staff member. Many of those decorations and gifts were made locally by Shindigz, a worldwide supplier to the Tim Tebow Foundation for the Night to Shine.

Locally, the Night to Shine was made possible by over 200 volunteers and support from Blossers Photography, Anderson Florist & Green House, Grace College, Male Fashions, Lutheran EMS, Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department, Out on a Limo, White Diamond Limo, Elite Whiteman Limo, Rice Ford, Toyota of Warsaw, Warsaw Party & Rental, Wildman's, Meijer’s, Carson's, Oakwood Resort, Paragon Medical, Walmart, Warsaw Christian Church, ExpressionS Salon and Day Spa, INFINITY SALON, Lancome, Studio 13 Photography and ULTA.
