Jake Harmon Nets 500th Career Point In LCA Victory
SOUTH BEND – The Lakeland Christian Academy Cougars defeated South Bend Community Baptist 65-30 on Tuesday.
During the boys basketball game, Jake Harmon scored his 500th career point for the Cougars (9-11) and finished with 12 points for the game.
Josh McDaniel scored 28 points against Hoosier Plains Conference foe South Bend Community Baptist (8-10, 1-4 HPC).
Trae Harris had a career high of five points, helping the team improve to 3-0 in the conference and stand atop the standings.
Lakeland Christian plays Oregon-Davis on Friday at home, the game will begin at 7:30 p.m.

Westview Is Too Much For Wawasee To Handle
SHIPSHEWANA – The Wawasee Warriors were unable to defeat Westview Tuesday night in a boys basketball contest. Westview won 51-37 in the nonconference clash.
Wawasee (5-14) had the lead at halftime against the No. 2 ranked team in Class 2A, taking a 19-18 advantage into the break.
Westview (19-1) turned the tables in the next half of play, outscoring Wawasee 33-18 to secure the victory.
Westview was able to defeat Wawasee without making one three-point shot and only attempted one the whole night.
Wawasee was led by Jairus Boyer, who had 18 points. Jacob Hand tallied eight points and grabbed three rebounds to help the Warriors.
Wawasee continues out of conference play on Wednesday as they visit the Mishawaka Caveman. The game will begin at 7:30 p.m.

Johnson Leads Triton Against Rochester
PLYMOUTH – Triton dropped a nonconference boys basketball showdown Tuesday night against Rochester, losing 54-41.
The Trojans (6-11) found themselves down early in the contest with an 8-5 deficit after the first period.
The Zebras (11-8) shot nearly 58 percent during the game, paving the way for the victory. Rochester nabbed 36 rebounds during the game, 14 more than Triton secured.
The Trojans shot 15 of 50 from the field, making six of their 26 attempts from behind the arc.
Ross Johnson scored 20 points and collected four rebounds for Triton.
On Friday, the Trojans will play at Tippecanoe Valley. The contest will begin at 7:30 p.m.

Whitko Cruises To Victory Over Southern Wells
SOUTH WHITLEY – Whitko won 64-41 against Southern Wells Tuesday night in boys basketball action.
The Wildcats (9-13) jumped out to an early 19-5 first quarter lead against the Raiders (5-13). Whitko scored double figures in every stanza, scoring 22 points in the third alone.
Brett Sickafoose paced the scoring for the Wildcats, collecting 16 points and six rebounds. River West tallied 15 points, 10 assists and four rebounds. Brian Collins had 11 points and five assists. Shad Ebbinghouse led the team on defense, earning five steals and four rebounds.
Whitko plays at home on Saturday against Churubusco.
