Nelle R. Heiman, 95, Warsaw, passed away at 3:15 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw.

She was born Aug. 9, 1922, in Coloma, Wis., to Harvey and Flora McLaughlin Shafman. She was married on Sept. 18, 1943, in Sparta, Wis., to James A. Heiman, who preceded her in death in 2002.

She moved to the Kosciusko County area in 1945 from Wisconsin and retired from Warsaw Community School Corp. in the food service department, working at Warsaw High School and Leesburg Elementary.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Warsaw.

She is survived by two daughters, Kay (Bob) Tusing, Leesburg, and Kris (Mike) Byrd, Fort Wayne; four grandchildren: Mary Beth (Scott) Tusing-Lester, Eau Claire, Wis.; Jake (Kelly) Tusing, Leesburg; Tony (Kara) Byrd, La Canada Flintridge, Calif.; and Sara (Gabe) Berry, Fort Wayne; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a sister and two brothers.

No public services are planned. Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, Warsaw, is in charge of arrangements.
