Editor, Times-Union:

Mr. Fribley wrote that there was no fixing the U.S. 30 problem when there is, but yes, not with the idiots we have in this county, and yes, they truly are! They have all known about the problem and they have all placed greed over the health and safety of the public!

I once attended a meeting several years ago, with elected officials, held at the Farm Bureau building. I brought up the issues of U.S. 30 problems. I got a look from these idiots that yes, there was a problem, but the economical benefit outweighed the safety to the public! I sat next to a county commissioner and was basically told to keep my mouth shut about any problems about U.S. 30 east of Warsaw. Yes, it was supposed to be limited access, but business issues are more important and so what if a few of the public gets hurt, and yes we all know ( I took this all to mean all those in elected positions in the county) about the traffic safety problems, they will become better as the public becomes more informed, so no more should be heard or said!

But more to the issue of how U.S. 30 can be fixed, as per my other letter. One way to fix it is to start at Farm Bureau Insurance and go east with a new highway 30. East of Farm Bureau build an overpass for Road 30 and run the county road under it and reroute it on to the soon-to-be vacated 30. Route local traffic on and off to new 30 at and under the county road underpass. East on south side of underpass, the west traffic using underpass and turn left. Traffic for local off new 30 can get off at the same location. The old 30 local traffic can be split to go east or west. It may mean doing some rework of the existing 30 to allow safe local traffic to meet with the county road at Wong’s, giving an access road to Meijer and to the existing businesses that are or will be on the old route 30. The businesses north of new 30 could also have an access road from underpass west and (due to what may or not be the case of problems to Road 15 could have a new road built to the road leading to Walmart) which will allow more increased businesses building in this location.

As for going east, one or more overpasses maybe needed, with a definite one where the new and the old 30 meet east Furniture Outlet. With the rerouting of the county roads they can become access roads for new local businesses’ growth that can be built on both sides of new rerouted 30. The rerouted county roads would all be where they would tie in with all the over- and underpasses. In this way no local traffic would ever need to go on the new rerouted very limited access New 30. Warsaw could (if the need arose for business trucking receiving and delivery) be accessed from either end of this new rerouted 30 on to the now- vacated old 30. With proper engineering, the new reroute will solve Warsaw's east side safety problems for years and years.

In fact, I would say the accidents would be almost none. As for Mr. Fribley and Parker Street, this also could be solved with a little more planning and a little more construction work, then with the advent of rerouted New 30 some of this traffic may go farther north to the underpass county road. But one thing I do know if we do away with the idiots and get people who know how to fix the U.S. 30 problem, they will be fixed with as little cost as possible and done with safety to the public in mind and not greed.

Mr. Editor, this proposal is but one that could solve the Road 30 issues. Maybe there are others a lot smarter than I am can do better. But one thing I do know for the present mayor and for all the rest holding their stupid idiot meetings: The problem won't be solved for years, and the way I made my proposal the new road can be done in not more than two years. And as for the money to build, if we can fund schools and spend money foolishly on traffic circles (roundabouts), we can we raise monies to fix this Road 30 death trap.
