AKRON — Connie J. Klein, 73, Gilead, died at 8:40 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018, at Peabody Retirement Community, North Manchester.

She was born May 21, 1944, in Rochester, to Glen A. and Alice Gail Wright Teel. On Nov. 24, 1963, in the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church of rural Akron, she was married to Jerry Klein. He survives.

Connie was a homemaker and worked on the dairy farm with her husband.

She graduated from North Miami High School in 1962 as the first graduating class coming from Gilead School. She was a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing, crocheting and spending time outdoors.

Survivors include her husband, Jerry Klein, Roann (Gilead); a daughter, Beth Ann (husband Nick) Sanson, North Manchester; a grandson, Alex Sanson; stepgrandchildren: Michelle (husband Jason) Downham, Nicole (husband Josh) Coon and Connie (husband Shane) Sizemore; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Glenda (husband Jim) Miller, Macy.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 15, at Hartzler Funeral Home, 305 W. Rochester St. Akron, with the Rev. Wayne Balmer officiating. Burial will be in Gilead Cemetery.

Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 14, at the funeral home.
