I find that those who are having plan meetings on the U.S. 30 issues are about as full of B.S. as a Thanksgiving turkey.

First off, the problem with all the so-called traffic on the east side of Warsaw was and is totally the blame of business and political greed. If they had all kept their noses out when the present U.S. 30 was built there would not be the problem as it is today. I saw the original U.S. 30 state engineering drawings, and if the highway was built as originally planned, Warsaw would not have the problem it has today! But because greed on both businesses and a mayor as well as others, (which involve local politicians, lawyers and doctors’ investment) who saw a chance to make a whole lot money on their property investments lobbied to have this original engineering plan completely redone to place U.S. 30 as it is today.

Not one of these investment idiots cared how many people would be killed, suffer severe injuries or thousands of dollars in property damages. Nor could they care less as to how this greed would effect future U.S. 30 needed upgrades. I read some of these lobby letters that was sent to the state by local business, local and state politicians decrying how much money they would lose, how it would help to prevent Warsaw in it plans for growth. All pure B.S. A governor made the decision to interfere for a whole lot of campaign money and it was payback to those here in Warsaw by having U.S. 30 as it is today.

The original plans called for U.S. 30 to go around north of Warsaw, starting about where H&H mobile park was and is located then as today. It called for overpasses and underpasses as well as for some of the county roads to be rerouted. There were plans for excess side roads to business growth. But greed put all this for naught.

Now we have a mayor calling for a new U.S. 30, when in actuality there is no need! Why build a totally new road when if they go east of Warsaw beyond the last business on the north side of the existing road 30 and do new construction of a new road going west with overpasses and underpasses and county road rerouted and rejoined the existing U.S. 30 where Farm Bureau is.

U.S. 30 was originally planned for added lanes to be built if needed. But due to greed and pure stupid idiots the existing Road 30 as it goes around Warsaw today will not allow for upgrades. If this was done as laid out here all of the trucking problems that exist today would cease, and it would be a whole lot cheaper then spending hundreds of millions of dollars for a complete new road. Except for idiots in Warsaw, most of U.S. 30 is today still a limited access road from Fort Wayne to west of Plymouth.
