Wrestlers Compete At Penn Regional
SOUTH BEND – Wawasee, Triton and Warsaw wrestlers competed on Saturday at the Penn Regional. The Warriors earned third, Trojans ended ninth and the Tigers finished 10th.
Wawasee had one champion from the event. Jace Alexander won the 106-pound weight class. The Warriors will also advance eight other wrestlers. Chris Schuller (120) and Braxton Alexander (126) tallied second-place results. Geremia Brooks (132), Garret Stuckman (138), Alex Castro (182) and Damien Rodriguez (195) move on after their third-place nods. Isaiah Faurote (145) and Elisha Tipping (285) each received fourth place, allowing the pair to advance for Wawasee and help the team score 119 points.
Triton had one wrestler move on, James Snyder (170) finished second and continues his postseason run.
For Warsaw, Isaiah Owens (106) advances as the Tigers’ only wrestler to finish in the top four at the event.
The wrestlers will be back in action on Saturday at the East Chicago Semi-State. The meet will begin at 9 a.m. CT.

Delton, France Move On For Manchester
PERU – Senior Wade France and Junior Delton Moore advance to semistate after both finished second at the Peru Regional on Saturday for Manchester. The Squires received 10th place as a team and scored 32 points.
France, who is a three-time semistate qualifier, advances in the 152-pound weight class. Moore tallied his second appearance in the regional finals and will move on in the 170-pound weight class.
Semistate will take place in Fort Wayne at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum on Saturday, with the first match beginning at 8:30 a.m.
