Tippecanoe Valley Picks Up First Three Rivers Win
AKRON – Tippecanoe Valley earned its first Three Rivers Conference victory on Saturday in boys basketball. Valley defeated Rochester 42-32 behind Cam Parker’s 20 points.
The Vikings (3-14, 1-6 TRC) found themselves down 18-15 at halftime against the Zebras (9-8, 2-4 TRC). After the break, Valley allowed Rochester to score only four baskets in the third quarter.
The Vikings outscored Rochester 27-14 in the second half to steal the win. The Zebras shot 29 percent from the field in the game, while Valley shot 36 percent. Rochester made 11 percent of its free throws in the game and the Vikings made 53 percent of its free throws attempted.
Valley travels to Maconaquah on Tuesday for a 7:45 p.m. TRC game. The Braves are second in the conference.

WABASH – The Manchester Squires squared off against Wabash Saturday night in a boys basketball contest. Manchester won 71-62 in the Three Rivers Conference battle between the third and fifth-place teams in the conference.
Manchester (10-7, 5-2 TRC) had a hot surge in the first quarter by netting 27 points and allowed only 16 on defense.
The Squires had shooting woes in the second period, only scoring two points and allowing the Apaches (9-7, 4-3 TRC) to earn 14 points. Despite the lack of offense, Manchester was only down 30-29 at intermission.
Manchester came back onto the floor and scored 21 points in the third, regaining the lead and propelling them to the victory.
The Squires will play on Friday at Peru for another TRC matchup. The game will begin at 7:30 p.m.

FULTON – The Triton Trojans defeated Caston on Saturday in a boys basketball contest. Triton (6-9, 2-3 HNAC) won 54-36 in a Hoosier North Athletic Conference matchup.
Ross Johnson scored 23 points for the Trojans, shooting 70 percent from the floor during the game. He ended with a team-high seven rebounds and five assists.
Triton shot 48 percent from long range. Beau Hepler netted four three-pointers and finished with 12 points.
Caston (2-15, 0-5 HNAC) netted half of its points from the free throw line, shooting 18 of 25 for the game.
Triton will play on Friday against LaVille and the game will be played at Plymouth High School.
