Evelyn Mottweiler will celebrate her 90th birthday on Tuesday.

Evelyn was born on Feb. 6, 1928, to Leslie and Lila Marston in Greenville, Ill., where she lived until she married the Rev. Jack Mottweiler on the day of her college graduation in 1948. Together they pastored churches in Illinois and California.

In 1971 they moved to Winona Lake, where she was the director of the Historical Center and Archives for the Free Methodist denomination until retirement in 1989. During this same time she traveled extensively as world president of the Free Methodist Women's Missionary Society (now known as Women's Ministries International) and as secretary/treasurer of the World Fellowship of Free Methodist Churches.

Evelyn was always active in the local churches and communities where she lived. She is a member of the Winona Lake Free Methodist Church, the Winona Literary Club, WOW (Winning over Widowhood — Jack passed away in 1997) and other local groups.

She raised two children and has six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Evelyn lives in Grace Village Retirement Community, where she continues to help those around her.
