He lived most of his life in the Milford area where he attended public schools. He was married to Norma Jean Slone on June 25, 1977, in Milford. She preceded him in 2004.
He retired from Merchants Metals in New Paris after 30 years.
He was a member of the Word of Truth Ministries in Milford and formerly attended the Northern Lakes Cathedral of Praise in North Webster.
He is survived by a daughter, Michelle (Chad) Dailing, Milford; three stepdaughters: Diane (Terry) Buck, Syracuse; Deb Hampton, Ligonier; and Eva Howard, Syracuse; a stepson, John (Eva Jo) Blackburn, Warsaw; two grandsons, Braydon and Bryant Dailing; several stepgrandchildren; and several step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, five sisters and five brothers.
Memorial services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15 at Word of Truth Ministries, 210 E Catherine St., Milford, with Pastor Mike Kelly officiating. Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. Ind. 15, Warsaw.
Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, is in charge of arrangements.
