Global Change Fears

We've seen rioting in the streets of Paris because higher gas taxes are being imposed to pay for the war against climate change. A friend of my mom who lives in Pennsylvania said the government is trying to convince farmers to get rid of their milk cows because they produce too much methane. General Motors is shutting down auto plants to retool them to build electric cars and is laying off workers. The UN wants to soak taxpayers with trillions of dollars in new "green" taxes to combat global warming. The world's economies could be destroyed due to global change fears. And if the climate becomes cooler when the impact of less sunspot activity occurs, will anyone admit their fears were unfounded?

I fear that GM might go under financially if it starts building electric cars with batteries that catch on fire or explode. Personally, I would prefer flywheels as long as they can kinetically store more energy than batteries. They would be made from less expensive materials like rock quartz or ultra-stressed crystalline graphite instead of materials that are from China or are too dangerous. If a few hundred cars explode, imagine how many billions of dollars GM would have to pay out in lawsuits. If my microwave plasma igniter is perfected that might be able to make water into fuel, hybrids might be able to reduce air pollution dramatically since water vapor would be produced. But scientists say water vapor is a worse greenhouse gas than carbon dioxide.

This nation has done a lot to reduce pollution during the last half century. But environmentalists that would have the world's economies collapse by forcing people to accept crushing taxation or forcing them to buy vehicles they might die in is not the right things to do. I believe we need more nuclear energy, my solar stacks and advanced wind generators, plasma burners to clean emissions from coal-fired and gas-fired power plants, more geothermal energy systems, and eventually solar satellites that would beam down gigawatts of energy to receivers. My moving highway system, transcontinental tube system and "third rail" power system for electric vehicles would dramatically reduce air pollution and could improve our economy while at the same time make travel faster and safer.

If given the chance, our new Democrat-controlled Congress might try to reinstitute the Paris Accord goals, which could crash the economy. Then again, Democrats can be blamed for both the Great Depression and Great Recession when they messed up our economy both times. Maybe if Trump is still president when the period of global cooling happens and we haven't wasted trillions of dollars trying to reverse what the sun will reverse, our economy will remain intact.
