Air National Guard Base Holds Service Academy Day

FORT WAYNE – On Sept. 22, Congressman Jim Banks will host a Service Academy Day at the Fort Wayne Air National Guard Base, where a comprehensive overview of the U.S. Service Academies and the respective admissions processes will be provided.

Attendees may enter the base via the security entrance just east of the airport beginning at 10 a.m. The event will begin at 10:30 a.m. and conclude at 12:30 p.m.

Students also will have the opportunity to meet with officials from the service academies, Banks, the 3rd Congressional District Service Academy Advisory Board and representatives from Banks’ office.

Students of all ages and grades, parents, teachers and guidance counselors are encouraged to attend and learn about the process and the requirements necessary to apply for nominations to the U.S. Military Academy, the U.S. Naval Academy, the U.S. Air Force Academy, the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy and the U.S. Coast Guard Academy.

To expedite security at the gate, all persons attending should RSVP no later than Sept. 20. To RSVP, email [email protected] and provide driver’s license number, state of issuance, date of birth and the full name for anyone planning to attend.

To submit a U.S. Service Academy nomination, visit https://banks.house.gov/services/service-academy-nominations.
