Friends Of The Library
Nineteen people gathered Aug. 6 for the Friends of the Warsaw Community Public Library meeting.
New member Norma Stiegel was introduced and welcomed.
Walt Krygier, treasurer, reported “Libraries Rock,” a midsize book sale, was highly successful.
“Rock Star” volunteers were thanked by President Merri Bottorff and takeaways were reviewed, including great decor, music, popular guitar tote bags and sold-out sweets.
A member vote determined coffee, cider and doughnuts will be offered during the big sale from 9 to 11 a.m. Oct. 25-27. Members also agreed to a private sale for FOL members and WCPL staff after the big book sale set-up. Hours for the public will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. that Thursday and Friday, and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. that Saturday.
Bookmarks for all 2019 sales will be distributed at the October sale and printed with a disclaimer, “dates and times are subject to change.”
FOL will start 2019 with a midsize book sale and Love-A-Book Cafe on Valentine's Day. The group will host book sales every month through Dec. 7.
After discussion, a vote for FOL to fund Santa and Mrs. Claus for Dec. 8 was tabled until next month.
The public is welcome to join this active Friends group at 1 p.m. Sept. 4 in meeting room A-B.
The next mini sale is from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Aug. 25 in the library lobby. New and varied inventory will be added.
