Camp Creek Church Supper, Auction Sept. 8 At Back Forty
BOURBON — Camp Creek Church will be having an auction on Sept. 8 at The Back Forty Banquet Hall, 1010 9B Road, Bourbon.
Supper begins at 5 p.m. and the auction will start at 6:30 p.m. All auction proceeds go to benefit local families in need.
Everyone is welcome.
Riverview Community Church Announces Wilhelm As Pastor
TIPPECANOE — Riverview Community Church announces the installation of Steve Wilhelm as pastor.
Wilhelm succeeds Rod Ruberg, who has served as pastor nearly 35 years and is now “semi-retired.” He will continue as senior pastor to be a mentor, encourager and helper to Wilhelm.
Both pastors welcome the public to worship at Riverview Community, 3780 Ind. 110, Tippecanoe.
Shalom Trio Singing Sunday At Leesburg UMC Lakeside Service
LEESBURG — The Shalom Trio will be the guest musicians at Leesburg United Methodist Church’s lakeside service this weekend.
The trio, comprising Nancie Adams, Helen Brontrager and Marcia Brothers, has been together for 35 years and has sung in churches and retirement centers in the Elkhart area.
Brontrager and Brothers were the original members who formed the group in 1982, with Adams joining two years later.
The service begins at 8:30 a.m. Sunday at Patona Bay on Tippecanoe Lake. Guests may come by boat, kayak or canoe and anchor in front of Patona Bay. Those who join the group on land should bring a chair. If it rains, the service will be moved to the boathouse.
Leesburg UMC also has a service at 9:30 a.m. Sunday at its building in Leesburg.

Heck To Speak At Men Following Christ Aug. 25
WINONA LAKE — The next meeting of Men Following Christ is from 8 to 10 a.m. Aug. 25 at Alpha Dining Hall at Grace College. Guest speaker will be Peter Heck.
Heck is an author, speaker and teacher who lives in Kokomo with his wife, Jenny, and their three children. He has been a public high school teacher since 2001, teaching courses in American history. In 2011, Peter published his first book, “78: How Christians Can Save America,” followed by “Believe: A Confrontation with Christianity's Biggest Challenges” in 2012, “ME: America's Deadly Obsession” in 2014, and “Family” in 2015.
He is also a contributing columnist for the Indianapolis Star and The American Thinker, and his work has also appeared in The Washington Times, FrontPageMag, OneNewsNow and WorldNetDaily.
Men Following Christ is a Christ-centered meeting for men of all ages. The monthly meeting is open to anyone looking to grow in his walk with Jesus Christ, as well as be inspired by speakers and the testimonies shared by other men. Breakfast is served, and there is no charge to attend.

Free Summer Celebration Planned Saturday In Burket
BURKET — A community summer celebration is planned from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Burket United Methodist Church.
The highlight of the annual event is the tug-of-war between the Burket and Mentone fire departments, set for 1 p.m. WIOE will broadcast the event live.
Other activities include a bounce house, face painting, balloon animals, volleyball, corn hole and a dunk tank.
Hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, drinks, ice cream, snow cones and mouse ears will be served at no cost.
Visitors are welcome to bring lawn chairs as they enjoy the festivities.
The church is at 102 S. Market St., Burket.

‘414 Foundations’ Seminar Sept. 22 At Victory Christian
NORTH MANCHESTER — Victory Christian Fellowship will host the “414 Foundations” seminar by author and speaker Peter Heck from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 22.
The 414 Foundations seminar is a full day of teaching and training Christians how to respond to fundamental questions involving the existence of God, the “conflict” between faith and science, the reliability of the Bible, and the evidence for the resurrection of Jesus.
Heck has been a public high school teacher since 2001, teaching courses in American government and American history. He has won numerous regional and state teaching awards. In summer 2004, Heck founded media productions company Attaboy Productions Inc.
Cost of the seminar is $45 per person by Sept. 15 and $55 after that date. Cost includes materials and lunch. To register, call 260-982-8357.

Frye Family Band Giving Concert Sunday In Silver Lake
SILVER LAKE — The Frye Family Band will be in concert at 6 p.m. Sunday at Silver Lake Wesleyan Church.
Originally from Indiana, the Fryes are based out of Nashville. They are recording their new project, “Things Unseen,” with multi-Grammy nominee and Dove Award-winning songwriter, producer and worship leader Michael Farren. “It’s an honor to work with someone of Michael’s caliber,” said Tom Frye. “Having him involved in the writing, song selection and production has been an amazing process, and it’s stretched all of us in amazing ways.”
