Agnes Pruyn Chapman DAR met April 24 at Richards Restaurant, Warsaw, with 12 members and two guests. Regent Kathy Gawthrop passed around the DAR Hindman School newsletter and a map showing the school's location in eastern Kentucky.

Following lunch, Gawthrop led the opening rituals, then introduced the program guests, Major Josellis and Rebekah Schue from the Warsaw Community High School Jr. ROTC program. Cadet Schue, a senior, is the Outstanding Female Cadet for this year. She joined JROTC as a sophomore. She is joining the Air Force and will be going to Texas this summer for basic training. She wants to be a pilot and go to college for aerospace engineering.

Janet Kirkpatrick gave the national defense report about honoring a Vietnam veteran photographer.

Gawthrop handed out information about Box Tops for Education. Members are asked to cut these off the appropriate products and bring them to the next meeting. They  help DAR schools. She also handed out an AARP article on Medicare fraud.

The same magazine issue has a book review of "Stirring the Pot with Benjamin Franklin." This is a biography of Franklin and presents 62 recipes from various times in his life.

The next meeting will be at noon May 22 at Richards. The program will be presented by Kosciusko Home Care.
