The Sheriff’s Department has high standards and continues to work very hard with numerous reports by outside sources that prove this statement to be correct. After the caucus, which appointed Goshert acting sheriff, he instructed all his deputies and employees to do their personal best to be respectful and cooperative with all law enforcement agencies. This has been continually reinforced and put to rest by those who want to move forward.

Have you noticed that people who have little to offer usually have a negative view? In politics this thinking goes along those same lines. All this false, negative thinking does not help any situation.  If you look at all four opposing campaigns you will see that only one has a negative narrative. This person is hoping that by blowing all this smoke you won't realize that he has the least experience and qualifications. It is real easy to make promises and talk about more meetings, but little has been said about real solutions.

Sheriff Goshert has received high ratings from both the Insurance Co for lower loss rates and from Advanced Medical, which provides medical services, praising his cost savings. Savings from 2014, 15, 16 and 17 exceed $300,000, which is a significant saving for taxpayers.

New programs and training have been implemented and are being implemented to help with increased school protection, church protection, courthouse safety, jail ministry and a comprehensive community plan to deal with the opioid crisis. This ranges from early preventive education, treatment while in jail, and post-incarceration followup and mentoring. Deputies are also attending many new training programs to better serve and protect our community.

Rocky is not a politician for sure, but his father, Bill Goshert, the WHS business manager, gave him a wonderful example of doing what you know is right even if you are in the minority. Your community will realize this and respond in a positive way.

I just want to remind you how important it is to have the right experience and qualifications to be a true and effective leader. This is like a business. When you look at the candidates, you should review and examine their track record to make the best choice. So tell me, if you were going to have surgery, would you go with the doctor who has performed that procedure hundreds of times with good results or the new doctor who you hope will do a good job? That should be an easy choice.

Please consider Goshert for sheriff, the proven leader!
