Larry Dixon “Dick” Conover, Warsaw, went into the presence of his Savior at 7:37 p.m. Monday, April 23, 2018. He passed away at his residence at the age of 81.

He was born Nov. 20, 1936, in Akron, Ohio, to Lawrence Gilbert Conover and Daisy Thelma Dixon Conover. On Aug. 17, 1957, he was married to Betty Ann Jones, who survives.

Dick enlisted into the U.S. Navy on Feb. 9, 1956. He proudly served as a radioman 3rd class until his honorable discharge Jan. 20, 1959.

He worked at Goodyear Aerospace, Akron, Ohio, as a programmer analyst and retired after 38 years with them. He enjoyed volunteering his time with Kosciusko County Jail Ministry, and for Encompass World Partners for 17 years as an archive specialist. He was a longtime member of Winona Lake Grace Brethren Church.

Dick was known for his sense of humor and corny jokes. He will be dearly missed and forever loved by his family and friends.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 60 years, Betty Ann Conover, Warsaw; two daughters, Terry (husband Gary) Herbruck, Winona Lake, and Tammie (husband Jim) Robinson, Winona Lake; and his son, Larry (wife Carmen) Conover, Lansing, Mich. He also leaves behind five grandchildren: Tara (husband Clint), Phil, Kayley, Catrice and Clay; plus his grafted family members: Marla, Michele, Andy, Kayden and Dani.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; and his granddaughter, Kandice, and great-grandson, Keegan, who were waiting for him when he finally came home.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, April 26, at Winona Lake Grace Brethren Church, 1200 Kings Highway.

His funeral service will be conducted immediately following viewing at 1 p.m. Thursday at Winona Lake Grace Brethren Church, and officiated by Pastor Jay Bell.

Burial will follow with a graveside service at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, with full military rites conducted by local members of American Legion Post 49 and VFW Post 1126, both of Warsaw, and active duty members of the Navy Honor Guard.

Arrangements are entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, Warsaw.
