Triton Tennis Stays Perfect In Hoosier North Play

LAKEVILLE – The Triton girls tennis team won 5-0 at LaVille on Tuesday, improving to 6-0 and 3-0 in the Hoosier North Athletic Conference.

Triton’s Kolbie Mason won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1 singles. Molly McFarland played in the closest match, winning 6-3, 6-3 at No. 2 singles. Haley Hooley  won 6-3, 6-2 at the last singles spot.

Lady Trojans’ Hannah Wanemacher and Emma Ross blanked LaVille at the No. 1 doubles position. They won 6-0, 6-0. Megan McFarland and Emma Hepler earned a point at No. 2 doubles from winning 6-1, 6-0.

Triton hosts North Judson tonight at 5:30 p.m.

Northridge Cruises Past Wawasee In Girls Tennis

SYRACUSE – The Lady Warrior tennis team lost 4-1 against Northridge on Tuesday.

In the Northern Lakes Conference match, Kabrea Rostochak and Courtney Larson won 6-3, 6-3 at No. 1 doubles to improve to 2-0 in NLC play for Wawasee.

Kendra Doerr won 6-4 in the second set at No. 1 singles, before falling  6-3 in the third set to lose for the Lady Warriors.

Wawasee is back in action tonight at Concord.

All three singles players won in straight sets for Warsaw. Liza Lewis won 6-0, 6-2 at No. 1 singles. Ella Knight (No. 2) and Alyssa Zellers (No. 3) each won 6-1, 6-2.

Taylor Shoaf and Amy Herendeen earned a 4-6, 6-1, 6-1 victory at No. 1 doubles. Rachel Yeager and Reagan Merchant won 6-2, 4-6, 7-5 at No. 2 doubles.

Wawasee Mercy Rules Bethany Christian

SYRACUSE – The Wawasee baseball team rolled over Bethany Christian 19-2 Tuesday evening.

The Warriors (6-4) scored 12 runs in the second inning and seven in the third. The game was ended in the fifth inning after the mercy rule.

Wawasee forced Bethany (2-3) to commit nine errors in the nonconference contest.

Jacob Garcia and Grahm Reinhard each had two hits for Wawasee. Garcia had three RBIs.

Garcia threw three innings, allowed two hits and struck out four en route to grabbing the win for the Warriors.

Wawasee hosts Plymouth tonight for a Northern Lakes Conference showdown at 5 p.m.

Valley Loses At CMA

CULVER – The Tippecanoe Valley baseball team lost 7-1 at Culver Academy on Tuesday.

The Vikings (2-6) were down 1-0 after the first inning and allowed two more runs to score in the third. Valley scored in the fourth to make it 3-1 but gave up four runs in the bottom of the inning to make it 7-1. 

Adam Myers tallied three hits and the lone RBI for the Vikings. Layne Prater took the loss. He pitched three innings and allowed six earn runs.

Valley visits Northfield tonight for a Three Rivers Conference showdown.

LaVille Secures Early Lead, Defeats Triton

BOURBON – The Triton Trojan baseball team was shutout 9-0 on Tuesday against LaVille.

The Trojans (3-6, 2-3 HNAC) allowed four runs to score in the first three innings of the contest. The Lancers (7-1, 4-0 HNAC) had 10 hits in the game.

Keegan Mosier had three hits for Triton and Max Slusser added two hits. 

The Trojans’ Ryan Kaufman tossed seven innings in the losing effort and gave up three earned runs.

Triton and LaVille have a rematch on Thursday for another Hoosier North Athletic Conference battle. First pitch is slated for 5 p.m.

LCA, Manchester, Whitko Compete In T&F Meet

WABASH – Lakeland Christian Academy, Manchester and Whitko competed in boys and girls track and field at Northfield Tuesday evening.

Whitko won the boys meet with 69 points and Northfield finished first with 61 points for the girls.

The Squires and Lady Squires both claimed second. LCA’s boys and girls both came in fourth and Whitko’s girls finished third.

Shad Ebbinghouse won 110 and 300-meter hurdle events for the Wildcats. 

Isaiah Davis won the high jump event for Manchester. He had a height of 6 feet, 2 inches. He finished second in the long jump event.

Kailea Kerr won the 400-meter race for the Lady Squires. Emily Mize had a distance of 85 feet, 1-1/2 inches in the discus to win. Sydney McLaughlin finished first in the high jump with a jump of 4 feet, 8 inches.

LCA and Whitko are back in action on Friday at Wabash. Manchester hosts the Wabash County Meet on Tuesday.



Valley Golf Beats Culver

ROCHESTER – The Tippecanoe Valley boys golf team won 210-311 against Culver on Tuesday at Round Barn Golf Club.

Valley’s Cade Brouyette was the medalist by shooting par with a 36. Carter Kistler and Bryce Madeford both shot a 57.

Corey Fincher (60) and Billy Gillman (77) rounded out the scoring for the Vikings.

Valley competes at the Rochester Invitational on Saturday at 7:30 a.m.

LCA, Manchester, Whitko Compete In T&F Meet

WABASH – Lakeland Christian Academy, Manchester and Whitko competed in boys and girls track and field at Northfield Tuesday evening.

Whitko won the boys meet with 69 points and Northfield finished first with 61 points for the girls.

The Squires and Lady Squires both claimed second. LCA’s boys and girls both came in fourth and Whitko’s girls finished third.

Shad Ebbinghouse won 110 and 300-meter hurdle events for the Wildcats. 

Isaiah Davis won the high jump event for Manchester. He had a height of 6 feet, 2 inches. He finished second in the long jump event.

Kailea Kerr won the 400-meter race for the Lady Squires. Emily Mize had a distance of 85 feet, 1-1/2 inches in the discus to win. Sydney McLaughlin finished first in the high jump with a jump of 4 feet, 8 inches.

LCA and Whitko are back in action on Friday at Wabash. Manchester hosts the Wabash County Meet on Tuesday.



Valley Golf Beats Culver

ROCHESTER – The Tippecanoe Valley boys golf team won 210-311 against Culver on Tuesday at Round Barn Golf Club.

Valley’s Cade Brouyette was the medalist by shooting par with a 36. Carter Kistler and Bryce Madeford both shot a 57.

Corey Fincher (60) and Billy Gillman (77) rounded out the scoring for the Vikings.

Valley competes at the Rochester Invitational on Saturday at 7:30 a.m.
