WCHS Grad Nick Bergen Inducted Into Phi Beta Kappa At Indiana University

Bergen is a junior, majoring in English and philosophy, with a minor in physics. He plans to attend law school after graduation.
He is the son of Mike and Casey Bergen, Warsaw.
Students are selected by faculty members who are themselves members of Phi Beta Kappa, on the basis of academic and service achievements. Only 1 percent of college undergraduates are elected each year.
Founded on Dec. 5, 1776, the Phi Beta Kappa Society is the nation’s most prestigious academic honor society. It aims to promote and advocate excellence in the liberal arts and sciences and to induct the most outstanding students of arts and sciences at American colleges and universities.
Noteworthy members include 17 U.S. Presidents, 39 U.S. Supreme Court Justices and more than 130 Nobel Laureates.
The mission of The Phi Beta Kappa Society is to champion education in the liberal arts and sciences, foster freedom of thought and recognize academic excellence.
